EDGE

I often think how can you make a product like ED77 EDGE modem.
It commonly happens, that lots of crap is delivered to Europe by chinese in their mules’ stomachs. Portable players, cd-roms, cassette players and TVs, but everything works “like that”, and is sold to villagers 6,99 per kilo.
In the meantime, under control of European Union, few deliverers, with a certificate of quality given by the producer, this modem works with a grace of a trashcan.
While they tell you to pay for it in pure diamonds, rival company offers 10mbps through cable for even less. Ain’t it worth thinking about?
We pay for the biggest crap ever made by human hands, and for the penalty for breaking the agreement you could get yourself a nice airport.
Stability of connection was lost by chinese while climbing over fences somewhere in Russia, connection modules were transformed into a loo before crossing the counter in Poland. Orange bought it for about 3 cents per kilo and now sells it for 120 bucks per month, with a quality of service known as “a shit in the center of Sahara”.
I have no idea where European quality has gone. One thing I know is sure: Poland will never be an European country. We have Rydzyk, which income is worth the whole Africa, and rather than following his Catholic rules and pumping water with his lungpower to Sudan – he cruises around in a Maybach. Which will get cutten to pieces and stolen and the driver kidnapped as soon as he parks somewhere. We have the most selfish and lacking of logic government ever.
The times we’ve been battling and defending our country with patriotic proudness are gone. Times of power, money, bitches and pimpin’ are gone, and all we can do is read about them in our history books.

They will never be back while we sit and scratch our balls thinking where they gone to – we need strong government and agreeable Parliament, to bring this crap back to pieces.

Introduction

Tough a lil’ soldier…

Hey!
First things first: I’m the new editor on Ruffy’s blog. Nickname’s Sharky, nice to meet you all and I hope we both will make this website more interesting than buying a laptop with Vista.
’nuff o’ dat, let’s skip to some more interesting topics.

What have you been doing all the summer?
Wait, it ain’t finished yet, summer still goin… so what have you done so far, except getting a broom closet to sleep in?

People like to travel. We all do somehow. We imagine the world “there” better, funnier, more interesting, and find our town a piece of crap. But when we move there, just for few days, we realize, that anywhere we are – there’s nothing more interesting to do than watch some good porn.
That’s so boring! Why do some people act like that? Why do some people prefer sitting in the evening, drinking beer, watching TV and arguing who can screw bolts in their car better?

There are lots of interesting places to see everywhere. And I do mean ‘everywhere’. The problem is: who will call a place “interesting”? Depends on the person and – of course – the place. Some find bars more interesting than theatres, some otherwise. Some will call a place “magic” just of the feeling in there – the pozitive vibez, you know what I’m sayin’. Some will call a place good because of memories they have of it… first they have to produce some memories, though.
But nothing – and I mean nothing – is better than chilling with a person you love, listening to Bob Marley and enjoying the exact moment.

I’d like to say that I am very open for any suggestions, topics to talk about and anything, just contact me.
Hope you’ll enjoy my articles.

Bom dia Brasilia!

There goes the past

Fonte Nova

I’m really really really pissed off today. Last night I was told they’re going to demolish our so famous stadium because they find it better to build a new one instead of fixing the old one. Here’s my 2 cents… I think brazilians have no respect to their country, they’d rather see a new building over one within its own history. There’s been an accident recently which got around 8 people dead and some more wounded. The accident took place during a game in Fonte Nova stadium, our local and most famous stadium at Salvador – Bahia.

Now I was told they’re going to demolish such a beauty and build a new one – their excuse being that it would cost the same thing to either repair or build an all new stadium. It’s not a matter of price, in my opinion, the real value of that stadium consists of its history. Great soccer players (ie, Pelé) have played there and now our government’s about to destroy part of our history.

Funny that my friends actually laughed at me when i compared the stadium to landmarks such as Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro, or the Copan Building in São Paulo, or even our so loved Barra Lighthouse. They have no love for a thing that’s just there in front of their eyes, and being demolished soon! I mean, why would they give so much love to Cristo Redentor when they can’t even recognize how beautiful OUR patrimony is? And their love towards a landmark outside our state, is it of any worth at all? I don’t really think so. You must love yourself before you even think of starting to love other people. Love your house before loving your neighbor’s. That’s what I think.

I would really like that people in this country had a little more respect towards the country itself. Sometimes it feels like we’re here for nothing. So please, SAVE OUR HISTORY! Keep things as beauty (or even odd) as they are! Lets make things better, not new! I’d like to get older and see that stadium and be able to tell my children (which I ain’t got so far! lol) that stadium is like 100 years old. I would love telling them it was one of the things that stole my heart the first time I’d been in this city. It won’t happen, people won’t rememeber though. From now on Brazil has no long-term memory… It has never had anyway…
As usual, talking never works out, people will always forget and we’ll forever keep on walking at the same backwards pace we’ve been on since colonization times… Sad? Yes. True? Perhaps it depends on your point of view.

Lemos, coordenador do projeto.

Location

Salvador da Bahia, located on the Atlantic coast in northeastern Brazil, is a historic city of 2.1 million. During the colonial period, Salvador was the capital of Brazil and the center of the sugar industry. Due to the strong slave presence during this period, Salvador and the northeast region of Brazil has a strong African influence which is notable in many ways, including religious and spiritual practices, artistic manifestations, cuisine, and ethnic dynamics.

Today Salvador is a booming city and its historical and ethnic diversity can be noted in the city’s architecture and layout: old colonial parts of the city are next to modern complexes, while shanty towns ( favelas ) lie adjacent to some of the wealthier neighborhoods. The CIEE Study Center is located on a bustling and beautiful square called 2 de Julho , located near Pelourinho , the historic center of the city.
